On 9th September 2014 Apple unveiled one completely new product line, a product enhancement and a new product service i.e. Apple Watch, iPhone6 & iPhone 6+ and Apple Pay Respectively. Tim Cook is putting his own stamp by using “Apple” in front of new products instead of using “i” based naming. Let’s take a look at the impact of new products and service announcements:
Since 2010 launch of iPad, Apple didn’t come up with a new product category. After 4 years of anticipation Tim Cook finally introduced a new product category i.e. Apple Watch. Apple watch starts at $349 and draws the largest reaction from crowd. Whether its texting, making phone calls, seeing time, playing with apps or calendar appointments, Apple Watch can do it all. According to Cook “What we didn’t do was take the iPhone and shrink the interface and strap it on your wrist”.It has sleek & elegant design. The wearable device comes in three versions i.e. Watch, Sport and Edition. This watch will be available in the market in early 2015.
iPhone 6 & iPhone 6+
iPhone 6 is one of the most expected announcement. Samsung is taking over the iPhone market through larger screen Galaxy phones. Thus in return Apple’s answer with a bigger screen phone is expected. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus comes with big screens, round edges, sleek & thinner design along with processor speed, device storage, battery life and camera capabilities improvements. iPhone customers are eagerly waiting for larger screens, now they have two options i.e. 4.7 and 5.5 inch large displays. These new phones will definitely help Apple in regaining its lost market.
Apple Pay shows the commitment of Apple in mobile payment industry. With the help of Apple Pay you can store all your credit cards in a safe manner and easily make payments at any retailer supporting Apple Pay. They are using NFC technology to make secure payments. iPhone 6 users can quickly make payments with the help of finger print sensor in their phone. Apple Pay also has an impressive number of retailers as launch partners e.g. McDonalds, Walgreens, Macy’s etc. Apple has also partnered with different credit card companies e.g. Visa, Chase, Citi, American Express, Master card, Capital and Wells Fargo.
Apple’s new product storm acts as a threat for many large multinational companies. Samsung is ruling the mobile market due to lack of availability of Apple large display phones. Now Apple is trying to fill this gap by introducing large screen iPhone. These new product offering will bring a major change in future.
