Recently Google has made minor tweaks in their classic logo. Reddit was the first one to identify the difference in Google’s logo.

Just look at both images and see if you can find the difference between two?

What’s the difference?

If you are a designer or typography expert then you can identify this minor tweak. However it’s very difficult for a layman to pinpoint the change.

Google has used kerning technique here in which they have moved letter g and l to make the logo easier to read and visually appealing.

This is exactly what happened, letter “g” is moved around 1 pixel to the right, while letter “l” has been moved 1 pixel downwards and rightwards. The new logo is cleaner and browser friendly.

Now spot the actual difference through this animation.

Google acknowledges this minor change through an email statement to Mashable “Great to see people notice and appreciate even single-pixel changes“. So It is unlikely that the decision was made lightly.
